Columbia African American Association (CAAA)
Memorial Scholarship Fund
Dear Friend,
We are asking for donations to the Columbia African American Association (CAAA) Memorial Scholarship Fund. As a strong supporter of remaking America and educating our youth we believe you will be excited about an opportunity to encourage growth in both. Your donation will assist young students in pursuing higher education. At the same time, this opportunity allows all of us to say “Thank You – Job Well Done!” to those who are on the “front lines” of educating future leaders and remaking America.
President Obama has called upon all Americans to serve this great nation by changing one community at a time; brick by brick, block by block. By changing a community we can change a town, by changing a town we can change a city, by changing a city we can change a state, by changing a state we can change the nation. CAAA will change America by developing her youth; specifically targeting minority student’s living in the Columbia Missouri area. Our mission is to work with the Columbia Public School System and the community in cultivating and developing responsible citizens and leaders.
The CAAA Memorial Scholarship Fund will be presented in honor of former Columbia African American high school students who are now deceased. This year we will award $500 scholarships to three (3) talented young African Americans students currently enrolled in Columbia (Mo.) Public Schools and graduating in the Class of 2010, to assist in their pursuit of higher education. The scholarship is open to any 2010 high school graduate with post-graduation plans to pursue an education at an accredited higher learning institution approved by The Higher Learning Commission in the Fall of 2010
Scholarship awardees must be leaders in the community, maintain a 2.5 GPA and plan on attending an accredited college or university.
As we begin the work of remaking America and developing our youth, we are asking the community for their support by donating funds for this scholarship. If you would like to help make the education dreams of a youth come true by participating in this vital project, please click on this link for a contribution form to help you participate in this vital project.
Please print it out and return it to us with your donation. We thank you in advance for your contribution.
